Document requirements
What to send us when you order road-legal number plates online.
Effective date: 26 October 2026
Please read first
GOA Number Plates must verify your identity, your name and address, and your entitlement to use the vehicle registration number. This is a legal requirement for every registered number plate supplier in the UK.
PDF format only. Please upload clear, complete and readable documents as PDF files. Documents in any other file format cannot be accepted.
1. Proof of identity, name and address
Provide at least one accepted document confirming your name and address.

Online upload requirements
- PDF files only.
- All pages must be clear, complete and readable.
- Do not crop out names, addresses, document numbers or other relevant details.
- The information must match the order details.
- We may contact you if further verification is required.
How to upload
After you have paid, you are taken to your order page, which has an upload panel with two parts: Part 1 — Identification and Part 2 — Registration entitlement. The same link is in your order confirmation email, so you can come back and finish later. Production starts once your documents have been accepted.
How long we keep your documents
Uploaded PDFs are held in our private document store and are deleted automatically 90 days after upload. As a registered number plate supplier we must keep a record of which documents we checked and their reference numbers — that record is kept for at least three years — but we do not keep the files themselves. If anything is still outstanding after 90 days we will ask you to upload again. See our privacy policy.
Please do not send V750 or V778 documents through public channels such as social media. Upload them on your order page, where they go straight into our private document store — not readable from the website, never emailed, and deleted automatically 90 days after upload.
DVLA compliance note
DVLA guidance requires number plate suppliers to verify identity, name and address and entitlement to the registration number. Uploaded PDFs are used for the website’s initial document check. Further verification may be requested where necessary, and we may ask to see original documents where the rules require it.
